Curriculum Coach Portfolio

I design standards-aligned learning experiences for middle school students that center identity, voice, and real-world thinking, while supporting teachers in implementing instructional practices that increase student engagement and academic achievement.

The Power of Perspectives Unit

This is a snapshot of a middle school language arts unit I designed around perspective, identity, and how we make meaning from the stories we read and hear.

Students engage with complex texts, discuss their thinking, and create work that reflects their evolving understanding, not just what they can recall.

This unit is aligned to grade-level standards and incorporates text analysis, written response, and discussion-based assessment. Instruction is designed to build students’ ability to construct evidence-based responses and demonstrate proficiency on grade-level tasks.

These are examples of how students show their thinking across different units.

I’m big on giving students multiple ways to process and express understanding—visual, written, and discussion-based—because that’s where you start to see what they actually know and how they’re making sense of it.

Student work is used as a formative data source to assess understanding, guide instruction, and adjust supports to move students toward proficiency.

Student Learning In Action

Instructional Coaching & Teacher Support Tools

I designed and facilitated professional learning to help educators implement instructional practices that increase student engagement, strengthen classroom culture, and improve academic outcomes. The session below included modeling strategies, collaborative planning, and opportunities for teachers to apply learning to standards-aligned instruction.
