Overview: Culture & Belonging Through Language: A Toolkit for Educators
This professional development session supports educators in building inclusive, identity-affirming classrooms by examining how language, culture, and belonging shape student engagement. Designed for a cohort pursuing trauma-informed certification, the toolkit includes reflection prompts, discussion protocols, and classroom-ready strategies to help educators foster deeper self-awareness, communication skills, and community-building among students. It centers language as a tool for connection, purpose exploration, and academic engagement, foundational to postsecondary and workforce readiness.
Feedback from April Brown, who invited me to guest lecture and facilitate this PD for educators pursuing trauma-informed certification at Cal State East Bay.
