Artifact #1: Student-Led Assemblies - "Stars of the Month”
Description: Middle school students leading monthly schoolwide assemblies to recognize classmates, with my support as a coach and coordinator. From writing scripts to rehearsing, students gained confidence and leadership skills in a space that celebrates community and student voice.
Artifact #2: “These Women Are Dope” Blog Series
Description: For Women’s History Month, I spotlighted women in my life who inspire me, asking each the same set of reflective questions about purpose, identity, and impact. This personal project reflects my belief in the power of everyday stories to build community and connection.
Artifact #3: Class Community Awards
Description: I created these end-of-year class awards to celebrate students for who they are, not just what they achieve. Students use a nomination system to recognize peers who reflect community values like creativity, activism, collaboration, etc. Every student receives an award, and we end the year with a joyful celebration that reinforces how each person meaningfully contributes to the classroom culture and community overall.
